Photography tour FAQs
When is the best light and season for photography in Morocco?
Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures and beautiful, soft light. Winter brings crisp, clear desert nights — ideal for astrophotography — while summer mornings and late afternoons still deliver gorgeous golden hour in the dunes.
What skill level are these tours for?
All levels. Whether you shoot on a phone, a mirrorless body or a full pro kit, your guide adapts the pace and the guidance to you. Beginners get hands-on coaching; experienced photographers simply get the access, timing and freedom to work each scene.
Can I fly a drone in Morocco?
Drones are tightly regulated in Morocco and often require advance authorisation, with several no-fly zones. We can advise on the current rules and, where possible, help arrange the right permissions ahead of your trip — please ask us before you travel.
Are the tours private or group?
Every tour is private by default — your own driver, your own photographer-guide, your own schedule. We keep group departures small and intentional, so you're never fighting for a spot at the best vantage point.
What gear should I bring?
A wide and a mid-range zoom cover most scenes; a fast prime is lovely for street and portraits. For astro, bring a sturdy tripod and a fast wide lens. We'll send a tailored gear checklist once we know your itinerary and the subjects you most want to shoot.
Do you include editing or post-processing sessions?
On request, yes. Several itineraries include relaxed evening sessions to review the day's images, talk through culling and basic editing, and prepare for the next day's light. Just let us know and we'll build it in.
Can the pace be slower for serious shooting?
Absolutely. We can reduce driving distances, add extra time at key locations, and return to a favourite spot for different light. Tell us which subjects matter most and we'll shape the days around them.
How many days do I need?
A focused single-region trip (desert, blue city or Marrakech) works well in 3–5 days. To combine northern and southern Morocco with both street and landscape work, allow 10–14 days for a richer, less rushed experience.
